With this combination we aim for healthy, medium-sized dogs with good conformation for working and endurance, well in breed standard. We aim for lots of speed and drive, early maturity in water, field and tracking, natural and passionate retrieving ability, notably easy to train and handle dogs, who are not weak, soft, skittish, hyper or nervous; outstanding will to please together with range and independence; prey drive and passion for fur, feather and hooves; easy, calm dogs at home who are also easy with people they don’t know well. Many american field-bred lines are known for their longevity - dogs hunting till 10-14 years and living up to 14-17 years, and Hunor’s pedigree is no exception. Keeping in mind that the whole breeds coefficient of inbreeding is slowly but steadily rising, the litters Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) is very low - 0,000% for the usual 6-8 generations, 0,111% for 10 generations, also ancestor loss % for 10 generations is notably lower than usually in most combinations and even “outcrosses”, which hopefully will be a very good thing.
SÄDE comes after two Swedish Hunting (field trial) Champions, that are among best of swedish weimaraners - both very strong, passionate retrievers (incl fox), trackers, water-workers, also equally strong on the field with lots of speed and range. She's a very happy, playful bitch with remarkably stable mentality. In work typically very quick and full of explosive, high energy and speed, yet still notably balanced and calm - a dog that, when waiting for her turn at trials, usually doesn’t even pay attention to the birds and shooting for the other dogs; one that from her own choice can wait calmly on her bed, when you put on your “out” clothes, while the other dogs already run around happy and crazy, waiting to go out. A dog that waits for the retrieve, totally dead-calm and quiet, focused, and when the command comes, explodes sharply and instantly to full speed and passion. She’s a dog that doesn’t loose her nerve or head, and has shown notable ability to assess situations and work through them, extremely smart in connecting the dots and offering behaviours. Her high cooperation, function ability shines through even in difficult situations, and she's a very easy dog to train and handle.
She loves fur and feather, is rather confident and bold (has been a football to a moose and a volleyball to a boar) with large game and absolutely loves water. She's generally not a sharp dog. Säde became a Swedish Hunting (field trial) Champion at the age of 3,5 years with only 14 starts, and is currently the only weimaraner to hold both Swedish and Finnish Hunting Champion titles. With un-known people Säde is a typical weimaraner - confident, medium-open.
HUNOR is an import from America to Hungary, his hunting and field trial bred pedigree is full of famous national champions and top producers, but it also differs from the rest, bringing a little more variation. Both of his parents are hard running, busy workers with loads of style. He is owned and regularly worked by a professional hunter and forester, and being bred for american field trials, he’s pretty unique among the small group of american imports, having also passed the german type of hunting tests under non-professional training, mostly with flying colours! Hunor is an agile dog with a fast search and good range - comparable to german pointers. He has an early-mature, solid and stylish point, very natural retrieving ability (incl the fox) with a calm, full grip; high will to please and work for the handler - making him very easy to handle. His passion is to work for his master! He’s also a good tracker/bloodtracker, uncompromising on wild cat and fox - attacks and breaks their necks; excellent in water work (huge, passionate jumps in the water and willing to retrieve a plastic dummy from cold water a hundred times just as our dogs) - altogether a versatile field and forest hunting dog that is able to deliver all professional hunting tasks. Hunor can flush his birds or let the hunter do it.Generally Hunor is bold and has strong nerves with low general sharpness. With people Hunor is open and very friendly, the kind that climbs on your lap and LOVES all people.
HUNOR comes from a litter that got NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeders Award in 2012 (NA is a test meant to measure young, relatively untrained dogs natural ability - search, nose, point, tracking, water, cooperation and drive/desire). Three of Hunor’s litter mates have NAVHDA NA prize I and one has a prize III, the litterhas proven to have notable early maturity/high natural ability with lots of drive, speed and point, extreme prey drive, passion for water, very natural, spontaneous retrieving ability. Besides that, they have an outstanding will to please, cooperate, work for the handler. Socially they are from very friendly and open (climbing up to strangers laps) to friendly (quick sniff and wag). They can be taken and handled by anyone. The litter is from medium to bit more tough, without being hard and difficult to train and handle, they’re able to work through difficulties without becoming passive and uncooperative - something we value.
Hunor’s sister NFC/NAFC/FC/AFC Southpaw's Ottercreek Bailee Belle made the WCA top 10 Derby list while she was still running in puppy, finished up her derby career as the #1 derby dog, and started out her gun dog career as #1 gun dog. She won both the Amateur and open stakes in the WCA's national championship in 2016, only one of a few dogs to do so the same year.
Hunor’s brother Otto is also field pointed from all-breed competition and was a WCA top ten derby dog, according to a top professional field trainer has the FC quality but due to finance restrictions never ran as a broke dog.
